six simple steps…

Wood Fired Seed Pod by Jack Latti

ONE - PREPARE YOUR WORK

  • Your work must be completely dry before it can be put in the kiln. This is called ‘bone dry’ and the work is very fragile. Treat it with care.

  • Please do not bring wet or damp work.

  • Make sure your work is signed on the base with your makers mark.

  • Please read THIS!

TWO - KNOW YOUR CLAY AND GLAZE

  • It is important that you know which clay and glaze you are using.

  • We will ask you some questions about this when you drop your work off.

  • Photos of clay bag label and glaze container labels are very helpful. They have temperature/cone values on them.

  • Make sure bases are completely free of glaze.

  • Pack your work carefully with tissue paper or clean second hand bubble wrap.

  • We will not accept work wrapped in dusty, dirty or smelly packaging.

  • Fruit boxes are ideal, can stack and are easy to handle.
